Daydreamer Domes, an upscale campground featuring domes for overnight stays, seeks a Class C License. This request came before the Casco Township Planning Commission at its January 15, 2025 6:00 pm meeting.

Missy Fojtik, founder of Daydreamer Domes, seeks to add this license to allow food, beer, wine, and mixed drinks to be served in the clubhouse and deck areas. Currently, Daydreamer Domes holds a Specially Designated Merchant (SDM) License which provides the ability to sell canned and bottled alcoholic beverages at its clubhouse-based retail store, with consumption of the alcoholic products limited to the pool area, domes, and surrounding acreage.
In discussion, the Planning Commission acknowledged that it had approved the Campground in 2021 as a permitted special use. Subsequently, language was added to the special use section of the Casco Township Zoning Ordinance to allow "ancillary commercial use." Some commission members shared the view that a bar/restaurant falls within "ancillary commercial use" but requested to review the original site plan, narrative, minutes of the meeting, and a copy of Fojtik's current license and desired Class C license application. Action was tabled until the February 19, 2025 meeting. The requested items will be made available to the Commission ahead of the February meeting.
Planning Commission members also noted that the previous entity on the site, the South Haven Golf Club, held a Class C license. Township Supervisor Allan Overhiser asked the Planning Commission to provide a recommendation to the Casco Township Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees will ultimately support the license request, or not.
Daydreamer Domes is on the site of the former South Haven Golf Club, 397 Blue Star Highway. It features 20 domes equipped with beds and bathrooms, a retail shop within the clubhouse, pool, and floating tank. Daydreamer Domes had its first season in 2024 with 5 domes operating. Fojtik is looking forward to having all 20 domes open for the 2025 season as well as a new frisbee golf course, among the amenities.
