Casco weekly lunch table at SSVB

An informal table set aside for Casco Township residents is available as a lunchtime destination every Thursday at Senior Services of Van Buren County. Spearheaded by Linda Teeter, Chair of the Casco Township Senior Advisory Committee, and Cheri Brenner, retired Casco Township Clerk, the table regularly draws at least six Casco Township residents on a "drop in/drop by" basis. Newcomers are welcome. The table is marked by a small sign denoting it for Casco residents and located near the salad bar. Lunch is available from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 pm at a charge of $5. The lunch offerings include a hot lunch option or salad bar, beverage and dessert.

The lunch menu is published quarterly in the Senior Services of Van Buren County newsletter mailed to Casco Township senior households and posted online. Eligible households not receiving the mailed newsletter may request one through an online form.

Casco residents age 60 and older can participate in any programming provided by Senior Services through a voted millage in Casco Township. A one-time registration based on proof of residency (driver's license or property tax bill) is required. Senior Services of Van Buren County also operates programming within Casco Township at its satellite location at the Casco Township Hall, 7104 107th Ave.

Senior Services of Van Buren County is located at 8337 M-140 in South Haven. Senior Services is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 pm with the exception of the third Friday of every month when it is closed for staff inservice.

Senior Services of Van Buren County follows the South Haven Public Schools schedule for closing in inclement weather.
