Casco residents with electronics, chemicals, fertilizers, weed killers, and other hazardous wastes can take advantage of a conveniently located event to dispose of these items. On Saturday morning, June 14, from 9:00 am to 12 noon, the Allegan County Resource Recovery and Recycling Program is hosting a collection event in Fennville.
The hazardous waste collection event will be held at the Fennville City Hall parking lot, 125 S. Maple, Fennville, MI 49408. Items considered hazardous waste include automotive liquids, oil based paints, solvents and thinners, mercury thermometers, pesticides, cfl and fluorescent bulbs, and cleaners. Please review what electronics are and are not accepted.
Styled in a "drive through" format, residents must show identification as proof of Allegan County residency. Hazardous waste can be transported in a car trunk and staff will unload and dispose of it.
Latex and acrylic paint are NOT accepted as they are not hazardous waste. Residents wishing to dispose of these paints should follow instructions for drying out the paint and then dispose of the paint with household waste.
The Household Hazardous Waste Disposal event is sponsored by the Allegan County Resource Recovery program.
Casco residents are reminded of weekly trash disposal and recycling opportunities located at the Township Transfer Station located on the west side of 69th St, one-quarter mile north of 103rd Ave. Residents must show a transfer station card. Additional cards can be purchased from the Casco Township Treasurer's office. The Transfer Station is open Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 pm.
